Today I have a round up of my top favorite lip shades for summer 2015. Last year I finally decided to get out of my comfort zone and decided to try bolder lip colors. Now this might not seem “bold” to everyone out there, but for someone who has been wearing nude-y peachy shades for the past years – this is bold.
1. Dior Addict Fluid Lipstick in 479 Magique – $39 for 0.18 oz
I believe this is the color that started it all. I remember falling in love with this color while swatching it at Sephora. But they didn’t have the shade in stock – I believe this color is usually not carried at Sephora but you can check. I ended up finding it in a Sephora store in Florida and snatched it up as quickly as I could.
The color leans warm and makes my face look very “bright & fresh”. It’s very pigmented, nicely rose scented and last for a decent amount of time.
2. Tom Ford Spanish Pink – $55 for 0.1 oz
A popular Tom Ford shade. This is a nice, soft and peachy color. This is what I tend to gravitate towards when I have a pretty heavy eye look or I don’t feel like drawing too much attention to my lips. Also, it has a nice soft vanilla scent to it.
3. YSL Rouge Pur Couture The Mats in 207 Rose Perfecto – $38
I think this color would be great all year round. Bright enough in the warmer months and deep enough for the cooler months. I believe this can suit all skin-colors. I really like the texture on this, it applies very smoothly. I prefer this texture over Tom Ford.
4.Chanel Rouge Coco in 429 Roussy – $42
This is another fresh pink. Although it looks warm in the bullet, this color does tend to pull a little cooler on my skin tone.
5. Chanel Rouge Allure Gloss in 13 Affriolant – $42
Another gloss I’m really enjoying. The Dior was my favorite but after using this countless times, this might be in the number 1 spot. This doesn’t feel as liquidy as the Dior – it’s much thicker and stays on the lips pretty well.
6. Clarins Instant Light Lip Balm Perfector in 05 Red – $22
I like this for “slap and go” days. Or sometimes I keep it in my purse for touching up (sometimes I would be wearing a different color earlier but I don’t want to reapply it – so I ended up reaching for this if I want some color on my lips). This has a nice sugary scent to it. The feeling is very slippery, not my favorite texture but tolerable.
