Today I wanted to cover one of my favorite foundations, Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua. There are two undertones offered, Beige “B” and Beige Rose “BR” – Beige is more of yellow undertone, and Beige Rose is pink. Those with Asian skin-tones will find the “B” range better suited for their skin. Overall I find that the color range is very limited at Chanel. They offer 10 shades which is mostly geared towards lighter skin-tones and at some counters they only carry the 8 lightest shades – which is very limiting. For my complexion, normally I would mix both B10 and B20 for my perfect shade. I find B20 a little dark and B10 slightly too light (although B10 is fine in the winter). For reference, I normally wear shade #4 in Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.
The bottle is quite fragrant, so if you have sensitive skin I don’t know if this is for you. Most Chanel counters I’ve been to have a strict return policy, they usually will not take it back if it’s been opened or used. I would recommend getting a sample first, if possible.
The texture of this foundation is very nice. It looks natural on the skin and can be applied to get a sheer-to-medium coverage. I like that it doesn’t appear matte on the skin (my skin but better?). One thing I must note is that you have to shake the bottle really well before using – and I mean well. Otherwise you end up with a slightly watery, oily mixture.
I converted both my mom and sister, this is something they wear on a regular basis now. So I think it’s safe to say that I highly endorse this! Keep scrolling for a few swatches.

As you can see there is quite a difference between B10 and B20. I think it would be nice if Chanel could expand their color selection so everyone else can enjoy their products.
