I never paid much attention to Essence before I came across Tati’s hot or not video.
One afternoon I went on a little adventure to a Shoppers nearby my office and I came across a small Essence stand. The majority of their products are made in Germany, Italy and Poland. The stand had these small “pull out” testers – which is a great idea that all drugstore brands should implement (that way not all the products are used and dirty).
I was very surprised these blushes were very pigmented and silky – as the name mentions. I was able to snatch all four colors (I think there are 2 more that are offered outside of Canada): 10 Adorable, 20 Babydoll, 50 Sweetheart, and 60 Life’s a Cherry.
When I swatches these, I noticed they all have a slight sheen to them so they are not particular matte – kind of reminded me of Clinque’s new cheek pops. My favorite blush is Adorable – it’s a light baby pink blush – great for everyday.
The packaging is clean, I like how they don’t come with those cheap brushes that nobody uses. I did notice that some lids were more flimsy than others but for $2.99 I didn’t expect Chanel packaging.
I think the color range is limited to those with lighter skin tones. It would be nice to see a wider range of colors – but I think they’re off to a good start.
Overall I would recommend this blush to everyone. It’s a great way to add more color to your blush collection without breaking the bank.
