Today I have Essie’s Fiji. A creamy pale pink polish with a white base. I must of heard every nail junkie talk about this one (and Mint Apple Candy) – so I ended up purchasing both from my local Shopper’s Drug Mart. This is a type of polish that makes your hand look more tanned. That being said, this color isn’t for everyone since it is very pink and flashy. If you’re into pinks or colors that really pop on the nails, I think this is a great color to try from the drugstore.
The formula itself is not the best. Even though Essie is one of my favorite brands, I’ve mentioned in the past that I find the formula inconsistent. I found the formula is thick, yet runny. Not impossible to work with, but you do have to be careful how much you load up on your brush. I would recommend scraping more than that you’re used to, since the color from the stick will run down onto the brush. The overall finish does look a bit thicker than the average cream polish.
3 coats is needed.

Old picture of OPI’s Mod About You for comparison. I pulled this one up, because it instantly reminded me of Mod About You. If you want to see more swatches you can visit: my old blog post. Both polishes required about 3 coats but I do have a preference towards OPI in terms of color and formula.
