Why doesn’t anyone like to talk about sunscreens? I feel like this is an area that has been overlooked, which is why I’m going to start a whole series about sun care. Over the next few months you can expect to find more articles about sun protection, SPF factor and what it means, what to look for when purchasing sunscreen, and in-depth product reviews.
To start off, I’m going to share a few of my favourite items.
- Clarins UV Plus HP Multi-Protection Day Screen, SPF 40 ($40 CAD/$40 USD)
- Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Water-Light Daily Face Sunscreen, SPF 60 (~$14 CAD/~$12 USD)
- Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Cream, SPF 38 ($40 CAD/$32 USD)
My favorite summertime sunscreen. Why I like it: It’s light formula absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a visible white cast.
Best drugstore find to date. Why I like it: You can easily get this product on sale and it’s watery consistency reminds me of my very own Clarins UV Plus HP.
Best wintertime sunscreen. Why I like it: The creamy consistency helps protect the skin from the harsh winter breeze. Skin tends to be more dry (at least for me) during the cooler months, a cream formulation will help keeping the moisture in.
Clarins UV Plus HP | $40 CAD/USD for 50mL | $.80/mL
Neutrogena Ultra Sheer | $14 CAD/~$12 USD for 40mL | $0.35/mL or $0.3/mL
Shiseido Extra Smooth | $40 CAD/$32 USD for 50mL | $0.8/mL or $0.64/mL
Stay tuned for in-depth reviews on these 3 products!
