Is it me, or was this a quiet launch from Dior? I stumbled across this collection during a stroll at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. I’ve always been a fan of Dior lip products, so when I saw the display I decided to test a few colors out. I ended up choosing BOLD and DIORKISS.
On the website, Dior claims that this lipstick boasts a hyda-gel core with a top coat effect for that mirror shine. This formula is concentrated in the CD center – which actually continues throughout the entire bullet.
In my experience, the lipstick is very smooth and moisturizing. The lipstick feels very creamy, as if you were applying lip balm. The overall finish is sheer-to-medium with a glossy effect – similar to lipgloss.
I found this formula very comfortable on the lips, but the longevity of the lipstick could use improvement. I find that the lipstick lasts for a few hours without eating or drinking – but if you do end up eating or drinking, you’ll find that the lipstick wears off. Now that might not bother some people, but I know for someone like Milan, she expects her lipstick to wear well. Personally I don’t mind that I have to reapply, I think it’s a great lipstick to keep in your purse because it’s so easy to put on. I should note that this lipstick is scent and taste-free.
The packaging of this lipstick is very similar to their existing lipstick line. It has a decent weight to it – it doesn’t feel cheap yet it doesn’t overly luxurious (compared to Tom Ford & YSL). In terms of design, I think this comes down to personal preferences, I personally think the packaging design is okay but I prefer something more sleek and simple – I’m not a big fan of the holographic look it has.
Overall I think this is a lovely product but nothing really stood out to me. The lipstick is smooth and moisturizing but it doesn’t last very long on the lips. I personally prefer the extreme formula (the one in the dark blue packaging), but I do think Dior released quite a few beautiful shades. The lipstick is quite pricey at $42 dollars each (for some reason mine scanned at $35 at Shoppers) – I think it’s worth the splurge for those who like lipsticks with a sheer-to-medium coverage, lipsticks that have a lot of shine, and for those looking for a more moisturizing formula. Otherwise if you prefer lipsticks with high-coverage and good wear time, then this isn’t for you.

Overall a very decent lipstick; this is great for those with dry lips and prefer glossy finishes. From the color selection I saw, Dior offers a nice variety of everyday wearable shades.
