Today I have YSL’s Gris Deco. I’ve been on the hunt for the perfect white & grey shades so I purchased this along with NARS Ecume, Formula X Extraordinary and Jin Soon Kookie White.
I saved this color for my engagement photos because I wanted something soft, neutral, yet stands out on the nails.
This is my first YSL nail polish purchase so I had high hopes for the color after hearing that they’ve reformatted their polishes – and at a hefty $27 price point, I expect perfection. My first encounter was rather a disappointing one, I found the formula to be sheer and a bit streaky. The polish is manageable if you have steady hands, but I would imagine some people would need 5 coats.
The drying time on this was a little bit slow yet tolerable, although I would not apply this color if I was in a rush to get out the door. Each layer remained a little bit sticky for longer than I would care for, but if you pair this with a fast drying top coat it’s not too bad. Just be careful not to bang up your nails.
I was able to achieve this look with 4 coats. As you can see, the final result is quite lovely. Overall I would say the drying time is “ok” at best.
This second picture is after 3 days of wear.
